SCOTT T. JURETIC BIO

Scott Juretic grew up in Omaha, Nebraska.  He received his B.A. in History (cum laude) from Santa Clara University in 1984.  He received his J.D. degree from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1987. During his law school career, he began to learn trial advocacy skills while clerking for The Boccardo Law Firm in San Jose.

 Upon passing the California State Bar exam in 1987, Scott moved to San Luis Obispo and became an associate with the local office of Hoge, Fenton, Jones and Appel. He specialized in insurance defense and representing public entities, including the County of San Luis Obispo and several local municipalities. In 1991, he started his own practice.

In addition to providing legal and investigative services to attorneys and law firms, Mr. Juretic has been a panel investigator for San Luis Obispo County since 2010.  He has been a member of the Central Coast Trial Lawyers Association since 1999. In addition to being licensed to practice in all California State courts, he is admitted to practice in The United States District Court for The Central District of California.

Mr. Juretic worked for several years as a volunteer and Legal Services Coordinator for the Women's Shelter Program of San Luis Obispo County.  For his contributions, he received The State Bar Board of Governors Commendation in 1991,  the State Bar President's Pro Bono Service Award, and the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association's John Seitz Community Service Award, both in 1993.

Mr. Juretic is married and has two children. He lives and works in San Luis Obispo. He is involved in local youth sports and his church. He enjoys spending time with family, running on Pismo Beach, and studying American history and politics.
